Eric’s professional path began in the U.S. Air Force as a public affairs specialist at Myrtle Beach Air Force Base in South Carolina, where he served as a newspaper editor and handled media and community relations. After leaving the Air Force, Eric joined the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce as a publicist, promoting the South Carolina coast and working with journalists, tourism partners, and local businesses to market the Grand Strand. His work on a major destination marketing initiative earned the Best Tourism Campaign in America Communications Award of Excellence from the American Chamber of Commerce Executives Communications Council.
That experience in tourism and economic development led Eric back to Minnesota, where he moved into chamber of commerce leadership. He served as President & CEO of the Detroit Lakes Regional Chamber of Commerce, leading business advocacy, membership growth, and regional promotion for a lake‑region community with a strong tourism, agriculture and small‑business base, and later as President & CEO of the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce, working with business owners and civic leaders to strengthen the local economy and support entrepreneurs. These roles gave him a deep understanding of what small and mid‑sized organizations need to survive and grow.
As the internet reshaped how people discovered destinations, products, and services, Eric realized that his background and experience could help businesses and organizations make the shift to digital marketing. He founded E3 Consulting Services in Grand Rapids with a focus on custom website development and search visibility so clients gain not just a site, but a clear strategy to be found, chosen, and drive business growth.
